– Democratic Leaders Unite in Support of Rubio Following Victory in June Primary –
BALDWIN PARK, CA – Classroom teacher and school board member Blanca Rubio announced today that her campaign for State Assembly District 48 has received the endorsement of Congresswoman Grace Napolitano.
Rep. Napolitano’s endorsement adds to the broad base of support and continued momentum for the frontrunner, and quickly follows her endorsement by former primary opponents Baldwin Park Mayor Manuel Lozano and Bassett Unified School District Board Member Armando Barajas, the California Professional Firefighters and the California Labor Federation.
AD 48 has a wide Democratic performance advantage, and Rubio is the clear frontrunner over her Republican opponent in the November general election – following her strong performance in the hotly contested June primary.
“A teacher and elected school board member, Blanca focused on improving public education and job training for working parents,” Congresswoman Grace Napolitano said. “She will use her experience in addressing our community’s needs in transportation, water, infrastructure, and the local economy. I look forward to working collaboratively with her, and I’m proud to endorse Blanca Rubio for Assembly District 48.”
“Congresswoman Napolitano is a dedicated and accomplished champion for San Gabriel Valley families. I’m deeply honored to have her endorsement,” Blanca Rubio said.
Napolitano’s endorsement adds to the widespread support for Rubio’s campaign. In addition to their endorsement, Rubio has earned the support of the California Professional Firefighters, the California Labor Federation, the California Latino Legislative Caucus, the Democratic Legislative Women’s Caucus, the Stonewall Young Democrats, the Women’s Political Committee, Latinas Lead California, and Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County as her campaign continues to solidify its frontrunner status.
