– Democrats Unite in Support of Rubio Following Victory in June Primary –
BALDWIN PARK, CA – Classroom teacher and school board member Blanca Rubio announced today that her campaign for State Assembly District 48 has received the endorsement of the California Speaker of the Assembly Anthony Rendon.
Speaker Anthony Rendon’s endorsement adds to the broad base of support and continued momentum for the frontrunner. AD 48 has a strong Democratic performance advantage, and Rubio is the clear frontrunner over her Republican opponent in the November general election – following her strong performance in the hotly contested June primary.
“As a teacher and school board member, Blanca Rubio has dedicated her life to improving schools and giving children and working families the tools to succeed,” Speaker of the Assembly Anthony Rendon said. “She will bring a valuable and passionate voice to the State Assembly and I’m proud to endorse her campaign.”
“I’m honored to have the support of Speaker Rendon,” Rubio said. “In the Assembly, I look forward to continuing our work together to support California’s working families.”
His endorsement adds to the widespread support for Rubio’s campaign. In addition to their endorsement, Rubio has earned the support of the California Professional Firefighters, the California Labor Federation, the California Latino Legislative Caucus, the Democratic Legislative Women’s Caucus, the Stonewall Young Democrats, the Women’s Political Committee, Latinas Lead California, and Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County as her campaign continues to solidify its frontrunner status.
